Pender Booster Club Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, January 11, 2017



Matt Torczon, Mandy Johnson, Shane Schuster, Paula Bonneau, Leslie Timm, Melissa Hansen, Dana Beckman, Terry Mailloux, Tara English, Ron and Karen Williams, and Penny Bruns


Treasurer’s Report:

Penny updated everyone on the balance and outstanding bills that need to be paid.  Deposits for the first week of basketball league were $838.10 for gate and $1,353.80 for concessions. 


Basketball League:

Mandy updated everyone after the first week of league.  Requests were made for Super Bowl Sunday and league tournament in regards to scheduling.  It was decided that the schedule for Super Bowl Sunday will remain the same.  Scheduling for league tournament will be the same as last year which is girls Gold Division and 5th/6th boys will be played on Saturday and the girls Silver Division and 3rd/4th boys will be played on Sunday.


Gym Pads:

The gym pads are installed and look great.  The Boosters will take a picture with school officials in front of the pads.



A discussion was held regarding the Booster Club sponsoring a scholarship in Ron and Karen Williams name.  Part of the criteria will be based on volunteerism.  The budget for the scholarship will be $500.00.  A committee of Shane Schuster, Paula Bonneau, Mandy Johnson, Terry Mailloux, and Ron and Karen Williams will review applications and decide on the recipient(s).


March Blowout:

Shirts and medals for blowout were decided on.  Ron will go ahead and order the medals and let Lou’s know the shirt selected.  Karen made a motion and Mandy seconded that the team fee for the tournament will be $75.00 with a $10.00 discount for team registered for the basketball league.  Motion carried.  A motion was made by Karen and seconded by Shane that admission prices for spectators of the tournament will be $3.00 for adults, $2.00 for students, and ages 5 and under are free.  Motion carried.  Tara made a motion and Penny seconded it that omelets be done on both Saturday and Sunday at a cost of $4.00 each.  Motion carried.


Milk Money:

With fees for milk needing to be paid again for the semester, a discussion was held in advance for the payment of outstanding milk money fees.  A motion was made by Mandy and seconded by Penny that the Booster Club pay the outstanding milk money fees up to $550.00 upon request.  Motion carried.



Mandy held a discussion regarding the Booster Club website.  She feels that it is not as user friendly as other websites out there.  The members agreed to get prices for a new website but would not make any official decisions until a later date.


Next Meeting:

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 6:30.  This meeting will be devoted to March Blowout discussions.
